Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Atalaya on Calle Atalaya in Abades, I wasn’t expecting much. The street’s pretty quiet, almost sleepy really, and you might wonder if you’ve made a wrong turn somewhere. But that’s actually the whole point of this place, and once you step inside, you get it immediately.

The thing about Atalaya is that it sits in this perfect sweet spot where you’re close enough to the action but far enough away that you can actually hear yourself think. Abades isn’t exactly a tourist hotspot – it’s more like where locals go when they want to escape the madness of the southern resorts. The hotel itself feels like someone took a lot of care with the details without trying too hard, you know? The lobby has this warm, lived-in quality that makes you want to linger with a coffee, and the staff actually remembers your name after day one (which honestly doesn’t happen much anymore). Check-in was smooth as anything, and they gave me genuine recommendations for dinner spots – not just the usual tourist traps but places where you’ll sit next to Spanish families on their Sunday outings.

What really sold me on this place was how it handles the little things that matter when you’re traveling. The rooms are properly soundproofed, so you’re not listening to every conversation in the hallway or dealing with street noise at dawn. The beds are actually comfortable – I mean really comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable. And here’s something you don’t always find: the WiFi works everywhere, even by the pool area where I ended up working some mornings with my coffee. The location turns out to be pretty clever too – you can walk to some excellent local restaurants (there’s this family-run place about ten minutes away that does incredible fish), and if you want to explore the coast, you’re perfectly positioned without being stuck in the middle of cruise ship crowds. Parking’s easy, which anyone who’s driven around the Canary Islands will appreciate, and the whole area has this authentic feel that’s getting harder to find. I kept thinking this is probably what a lot of Spanish coastal towns felt like twenty years ago before everything got so polished and predictable. The 9.2 rating makes total sense when you stay here – it’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top luxurious, but everything just works the way it should, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

  Bed sheets on double bed not deep enough kept coming off.
  The door to the downstairs needs a proper lock not a slide chain that’s long so door does open a couple of inches so that anyone can open from the outside if your sleeping

  Spacious luxury house near the beach, near the highway, quiet place, house has everything you need for your stay. We were two families with three small children.

  absolutely perfect accommodation. Magnificent house 100m from the beach. Standard equipment, everything is more than you would expect. A fully equipped kitchen, a total of 4 bathrooms, very comfortable beds, a huge smart TV in each room, everything beautifully lit, a spacious terrace with a table, a grill, a sink, deckchairs, a parasol. Clean, tidy everywhere…5 minutes from the supermarket dialprix, on on the other side, a minimarket and several restaurants.
  
  What could be improved: 2 rooms with bathrooms and an atrium are below the level of the sidewalk, without windows, but the light comes from above from the staircase. In hot weather, an advantage rather than a disadvantage

  Abades is a beautiful place, the apartment is just 2 minutes walk away from the beautiful sandy beach, which feels like a private beach. The accommodation is just amazing, with nice big rooms, modern design, an very comfy big beds. The hosts are very friendly.

  Wszystko znakomicie i dokładnie tak jak w opiniach, które czytałem przed przyjazdem. Dla ludzi szukających fajnej bazy wypadowej ( do większości atrakcji około godzina jazdy samochodem) jest to doskonałe miejsce. W domku jest pełne wyposażenie sklepy blisko, plaża blisko widoki na Teneryfie nie do opisania, polecam gorąco.

  Obiekt w pierwszej linii z widokiem na morze, na plażę w kostiumie 4 minuty. A miasteczku 2 sklepy, bary i pizzeria otwarta od czwartku do soboty. Boiska, place zabaw a jednocześnie cisza i spokój. Świetne miejsce aby zwiedzać Teneryfę. Jak dla nas był to znakomity wybór. Piaszczysta plaża ze spokojnym morzem a jednocześnie miejsca do nurkowania. Dom miał wszystko (oprócz deski do krojenia – taki szczególik) – w tym piękne kieliszki:))) pralkę i suszarkę. w schowku piłka na palże, materace do pływania i wiaderka z łopatkami :))) Masz wiec wszystko.

  Niesamowicie bogato wyposażony dom! Było wszystko czego trzeba, kuchnia, pralnia – perfect! Okolica bardzo spokojna, piękne małe miasteczko. Sklep Lidl w odległości 15 minut samochodem. Osobne wejścia do dwóch przestrzeni. U góry salon kuchnia dwie łazienki i sypialnia a na dole salon dwie łazienki i dwie sypialnie. Dużo przestrzeni. Właściciel miły, pomógł naprawić drzwi, które się zatrzasnęły od pralni. Polecam bardzo
