You know what caught me off guard about Aromas Suites? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – and I mean that in the best way possible. Walking up Calle San Juan (which is thankfully one of the flatter streets in Puerto de la Cruz, trust me on this), you’ll notice the building has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “tourist trap.” The entrance is sort of tucked away, which I initially thought might be a problem, but honestly it keeps things quieter than some of the places right on the main drag.

The apartments themselves are what really sold me on this place. These aren’t your typical cramped hotel rooms with a mini-fridge shoved in the corner – we’re talking proper kitchenettes with enough counter space to actually prep a meal. The living areas flow naturally into the sleeping spaces, and the balconies… well, depending on which side you’re on, you’ll either catch glimpses of the ocean or look out over the neighborhood’s mix of traditional Canarian architecture and newer developments. I actually spent more time on that balcony than I expected, especially in the evenings when the temperature drops and you can hear the sound of families having dinner in the apartments across the way. The Wi-Fi reaches out there too, which is more than I can say for some fancier places I’ve stayed.

What really sets Aromas apart is the location – you’re about a ten-minute walk from Playa Jardín (those black sand beaches that look incredible in photos but feel weird under your feet the first time), but far enough from the beachfront chaos that you can actually get some sleep. The staff genuinely seems to know the area; when I asked about getting to the botanical gardens, the woman at reception didn’t just point me toward the tourist bus – she told me about the local guagua route that costs a fraction of the price and drops you closer to the entrance. Small things like that make a difference when you’re trying to stretch your travel budget. The building itself has this quiet efficiency about it; I never dealt with crowded elevators or noisy hallways, even though the place seemed pretty full during my stay in March. Honestly, for a 4-star rating, the 9.1 score makes perfect sense – it’s not trying to be the flashiest place in town, but everything works the way it should, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

  Amazing location, right in the city center, close to many restaurants. Quiet bedrooms on interior courtyard side. Generous space, well equiped. Great value for money.

  Excellent location, extraordinary clean and spacious, perfect instructions from the host company, loved the design. Despite being located so centrally, it's very calm during nights because the sleeping rooms are away from the street. Definitely would stay here again.
  
  What could be improved: Really, the only things we would have wished were some good knives, a better pan in the kitchen and a towel for drying dishes.

  Very spacious and comfortable living space with large bedrooms. The location was perfect, right in the centre of town.
  It's nice that the bedrooms all back onto the inner courtyard rather than the street.
  
  What could be improved: One let down was the kitchen equipment which was sparse for such a large place. For example, no spatula, blunt knives, only 3 wine glasses. Also the oven dials were unreadable so it was a guess as to what setting it was on.
  The other issue is that when we arrived at the agreed time of 3pm, the cleaners had only just started cleaning – this was a mistake on their part, and specific to our booking rather than a general criticism of the pace. Our contact at Oceans rental said he would give us a bottle of champagne and discounts to their partner restaurant. However, the champagne was just sparkling wine, and we found more of the 20% discount vouchers in the draw in the flat, so it felt like these weren't particularly compensatory.

  The apartment was very well situated in the heart of the town.
  
  The property was also well furnished and spacious with really good quality showers, a modern kitchen, washing machine and dryer plus ironing board.

  What could be improved: There wasn't a plug for the sink, therefore washing up was a bit hard.

  Location in city center, free parking available on 200m. Modern and large apartment. Good beds, nice furnishings. Entrance with code is easy to use. Washing machine available. Perfect for our stay.
  
  What could be improved: It is in the city centre so some noice from outside can be expected (no problem for us).
  It can be a little bit warm in the appartement during the day, but opening the windows in the evening ensures a nice temperature for sleeping.

  A huge apartment you can get lost in, located in a town center building with the elevator. Neighborhood is pretty and feels safe. All you need, all the restaurants, bars, shops, everything is footstep away. Decorated very nice… Although the streets at night were very loud and there is a night bar right in front of the building you can sleep tight, because the rooms are located in the back of the flat around the skylight. Well equipped (washing machine, dryer, microwave, oven, etc.). Overall a nice place to stay and I will recommend it!
  
  What could be improved: No dishwasher (a big minus)… No AC and I can't imagine how that works during the summer. There is a sign asking the guests to take the trash to a public waste container, but we couldn't find it anywhere 200m around the apartment. I really don't want to spend my vacation searching for the trash cans, so we left the waste in a sealed plastic bags inside the apartment… No parking, however there is a huge public parking lot (Explanada del Muelle) only a few minutes away and we were always able to find the spot.
