Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of places in Playa de las Americas, and honestly, Arcade Apartments caught me off guard in the best way possible. You know how sometimes you book a place and just hope it doesn’t disappoint? Well, this one actually exceeded expectations. The building sits right on Avenida Antonio Dominguez, which – if you know the area – puts you in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to hear the energy of the strip but far enough that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 3 AM.

What really struck me about this place is how they’ve managed to feel like proper apartments rather than just hotel rooms with kitchenettes slapped in. I mean, you walk in and there’s actual space to spread out, decent-sized balconies where you can have your morning coffee without feeling like you’re performing for the street below. The kitchen setup is legit too – not just a mini fridge and microwave situation, but proper appliances where you could actually cook if you wanted to save some euros instead of eating out every night. The pool area gets busy around midday (obviously), but if you’re an early riser like me, you can pretty much have it to yourself until about 10. There’s something satisfying about floating around while the rest of the complex is still waking up.

Here’s the thing that sold me on this place though – the staff actually know what they’re doing. Check-in was smooth, they gave me real recommendations (not just the touristy stuff), and when I had a minor issue with the air conditioning, someone was up within twenty minutes. That’s rare in this part of Tenerife, trust me. The location works really well if you’re planning to explore beyond just the immediate tourist zone. You’re walking distance to the beach, obviously, but you’re also positioned where you can easily grab a guagua (local bus) to other parts of the island without the hassle of navigating from some remote resort. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak season – just something to keep in mind if you’re renting a car. The whole area gets pretty congested in July and August, but that’s true anywhere in Playa de las Americas. What I appreciated is that even when the place was fully booked, it never felt chaotic or overcrowded. There’s a good flow to how everything’s laid out, and the soundproofing between units is actually decent. You might catch some hallway chatter occasionally, but nothing that would keep you awake unless you’re an incredibly light sleeper.
