You know what’s funny about Puerto de la Cruz? Everyone talks about the big resort hotels, but honestly, some of the best spots are these smaller beachfront apartments that locals have been quietly running for years. This place on Avenida de Cristóbal Colón is exactly that kind of find – I mean, when you’re literally across the street from Playa Jardín, you don’t need to shout about it.

The location is pretty much perfect if you actually want to experience Puerto de la Cruz rather than just hide in a resort bubble. You’re right there where the locals take their evening walks along the promenade, and I love that you can hear the waves at night but it’s not one of those places where you’re kept awake by crashing surf. The volcanic black sand beaches here are something else – they retain heat differently than regular sand, so evening beach walks are actually comfortable even when it’s cooler. What really sold me on this spot though is how walkable everything is. The old town’s botanical gardens are maybe a ten-minute stroll, and there’s this little stretch of family-run restaurants just down Colón where you’ll find better Canarian food than most tourist spots serve.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel room – there’s real character here, though I should mention the furnishings are more functional than fancy. But honestly, when you’re spending most of your time exploring or on the beach, that matters less than having a proper kitchen (which you do) and a comfortable bed (which you also do). The 8.7 rating makes sense to me because it delivers on what matters most: location, cleanliness, and that authentic local feel. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no long lobby waits or upselling attempts. One small thing worth noting is that parking can get tight during peak season, but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re patient. The building’s got that classic Canarian architecture that photographs well, and the balcony views… well, let’s just say your morning coffee routine will definitely improve. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but if you want to wake up to ocean views and fall asleep to the sound of waves while staying somewhere that feels genuinely connected to Puerto de la Cruz rather than isolated from it, this hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  We travel a lot and this place is one of the best we ever stayed in. Host was amazing in providing detail instruction for everything before and during the stay. Spacious, clean, very organised place with the views that can't get better. Swiming pool and views on top floor, icing on the cake. Book this place if you get chance you will love everthing about it.

  Great studio with great view, near beach.
  The apartament was clean, with all you need.
  It has a pool on the roof where you can refresh and see that great panoramic view.
