Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the address for APTO 1103 MESA DEL MAR, I thought we were in for one of those sterile apartment rentals that look great online but feel like staying in someone’s unused storage unit. Boy, was I wrong. This place actually gets it right, and I mean really right – there’s a reason it’s pulling a 9.1 rating from people who’ve actually stayed here.

The thing is, you’re on the 11th floor of Edificio Tamara, which sounds fancy but it’s really just this well-maintained building that sits perfectly in Puerto de la Madera. What hits you first is the view – honestly, Mesa del Mar isn’t lying about that ocean perspective. You’ll spend way too much time on that balcony, especially around sunset when the light hits the water just right. The apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home, not a rental property that’s been stripped of personality. The kitchen’s properly equipped (I’m talking real knives and pans that aren’t scratched to hell), and the living space has this comfortable, lived-in quality that makes you want to kick back with a beer and plan absolutely nothing for the evening.

Here’s what I really appreciated – the location gives you options without throwing you into tourist chaos. Puerto de la Madera has this nice balance where you’re close enough to walk to decent restaurants and that little market on the corner, but you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds stumbling around at midnight. The building’s quiet too, which matters when you’re trying to sleep off a day of exploring. Parking can be a bit of a dance depending on the season, but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re patient. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward key-pickup-at-a-random-café nonsense that some places pull. The whole setup just works, you know? It’s one of those stays where you actually feel like you’re living somewhere for a few days instead of just occupying a room. For a 3-star spot, it punches way above its weight class, and after staying in plenty of places that promise the world and deliver cardboard, that’s exactly what you want to hear.

  Everything is amazing, you can rest well with sunshine and the host prepared everything for you already! You can cook, have a good bath and enjoy the beers in the balcony! The check in lady is really nice too! It will definitely be one of my best experiences ever.

  I like the location. By the beach and it's only 45 minutes to one hour drive to Anaga Park. Personally, it was not too long for me.The host Marta was a gem. She gave us a lot of information about what to do around the apartment. Will surely recommend to those who want to have a quiet holiday far from the busy tourist area

  We really liked the view from the balcony. It was nice and a bit scary at the same time to watch the big waves hit the coast. We also liked the swimming pool with salty water.

  Beautiful apartment with amazing views! It's nicely furnished in seaside style, with fully equipped kitchen and comfortable beds.
  It is in not touristic a d really quiet area.
