You know what hit me first about this place? The sound of absolute silence broken only by birds I couldn’t identify – and I mean that in the best way possible. This apartment sits tucked away on Carretera las Medianians in La Orotava, which honestly sounds more intimidating than it actually is. It’s basically this winding road that snakes up into the hills above the main town, and while your GPS might get a little confused finding it (mine did), once you’re there, you’ll understand why it’s worth the minor navigation adventure.

The “huge deck” isn’t just marketing speak – it’s legitimately massive and faces out toward these terraced gardens that feel almost prehistoric. I spent way too much time out there with my morning coffee, watching the mist roll through the valley below. The whole setup feels like someone’s well-kept secret, tucked into this pocket of La Orotava that most tourists never stumble across. What really gets me is how the gardens seem to spill down the hillside in these perfect layers – you can tell someone’s been tending this land for generations, not just throwing together some landscaping for the rental photos. The apartment itself is surprisingly spacious (Spanish mountain properties can be hit or miss on that front), and everything feels thoughtfully put together rather than just functional.

Here’s the thing about staying up here – you’re about a fifteen-minute drive from the main plaza in La Orotava, which means you get the best of both worlds. Close enough to grab dinner at those little tapas places locals actually go to, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with any tourist crowds or street noise. I actually found myself looking forward to that short drive each time, especially in the evening when the whole valley starts to glow. The only minor downside? Well, you’ll want a car – walking up and down these hills with groceries isn’t exactly fun, and the bus routes don’t really serve this area. But honestly, having a car in Tenerife opens up so much anyway, so it’s hardly a complaint. The host was refreshingly straightforward during check-in too – none of that overly enthusiastic vacation rental energy, just clear directions and genuine recommendations for places to eat. That 9.2 rating makes total sense when you’re sitting on that deck at sunset, realizing you’ve found one of those places that actually lives up to its photos.

  Candy, our host, was so incredibly thoughtful and caring. I can't imagine a nicer person to stay with! The kitchen has everything you need including spices and cooking oil. This is very thoughtful and makes cooking on site enjoyable.

  Candy ist eine offene und herzliche Dame, genauso wurden wir begrüßt und auch wieder verabschiedet. Uns hat es an nichts gemangelt, sogar eingeheizt wurde vor unserer Ankunft. Ja, es gibt dort 3 kleine Heizkörper, was zu dieser Jahreszeit sehr von Vorteil ist. Grundausstattung an Küchenutensilien und Gewürzen sind vorhanden, dazu zusätzliche Aufmerksamkeiten wie Kaffee, Tee, Obst, Kekse und Kaltgetränke. Die wunderschöne Terrasse mit Sitzgelegenheiten und zwei Liegen, sowie die geniale Aussicht auf den Teide, das Meer, Puerto de la Cruz und Orotava, laden zum Verweilen ein. Ebenso erwähnenswert ist der schöne Garten mit den unterschiedlichsten Pflanzen und Blumen. Fazit wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und kommen gerne einmal wieder. Vielen Dank!

  Die Ferienwohnung liegt ruhig, aber dennoch in kurzer Entfernung zur TF-21, der Straße von La Orotava zum Teide. Die Aussicht von der Terrasse ist grandios. Über viele bunt blühende Büsche und Bäume hinweg hat man ungehinderten Blick zur Küste und zum Teide.
  Candy hat uns zur Anreise (Auto ist zu empfehlen) per WhatsApp und telefonisch viele nützliche Tipps gegeben. Der persönliche Empfang war sehr herzlich und die Ferienwohnung war mit vielen bunten Blüten verziert. Auch während unseres Aufenthaltes hat sie uns mit Tipps und Information versorgt.
  Sollten wir nochmal nach Teneriffa reisen, werden wir gerne bei Candy logieren.
