You know what struck me first about Apartment El Medano Sunrises? The name actually delivers – I mean, you’re literally watching the sun come up over the Atlantic from your balcony if you snag one of the east-facing units. The building sits right on Avenida Mar Adriatico, which honestly sounds fancier than it is, but that’s part of El Médano’s charm. It’s this laid-back windsurfing town that hasn’t gotten too precious about itself yet.

The apartments themselves are properly comfortable – I’d say the 4-star rating fits, though it’s more in a “this is exactly what you need” way rather than flashy luxury. The kitchenettes are actually functional (shocking, I know), and the living spaces have that breezy, unfussy vibe that works perfectly when you’re spending most of your day on the beach anyway. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – El Médano isn’t exactly a party destination, so you can actually sleep with the windows open and just hear the waves. The Wi-Fi was solid too, which matters if you’re trying to work remotely or just want to post those sunrise photos without waiting forever.

Location-wise, you’re about a three-minute walk to Playa El Médano, which is this gorgeous stretch of golden sand that goes on forever. The beach gets absolutely packed with windsurfers and kitesurfers – seriously, it’s like watching a colorful circus out there on windy days. If you’re not into the water sports scene, don’t worry; there’s plenty of space to just sprawl out with a book. The town center is small but has everything you need – a few good tapas spots (try Bar Playa for their papas arrugadas), a decent supermarket, and that relaxed Canarian atmosphere where nobody’s in a hurry. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak season, but the hotel staff were pretty helpful about suggesting spots. One thing to note: if you’re expecting resort-style amenities, this isn’t that kind of place. But if you want a clean, comfortable base for exploring this part of Tenerife – with those incredible sunrises thrown in – it’s honestly hard to beat.

  The accommodation was very clean and compact. It was equipped with everything we needed for our 1 weeks stay. The accommodation was on the top floor which suited us because we had a terrace on the roof plus a balcony. There is a lift and the stairwell has lights. The complex is quiet and suited to all age groups. It is right across the road from a lovely beach, but it also has a small swimming pool. The views are great and I loved listening to the ocean swell at night. You get a glimpse of the volcano behind the apartment and there is a small mountain/ headland to the south. It has been mentioned that El Medano is windy and it was breezy on occasions during our stay, but coming from the NE coast of Ireland nothing out of the ordinary.
  You have a short, very nice walk into El Medano along the coast. The footpath is wide to accommodate all the walkers, runners and occasional bikes. There is an abundance of places to eat all reasonably priced.
  El Medano itself is a very chilled, pretty place to stay and really does cater for all. Whether you’re a sports enthusiast or just like easy strolls. This was my first visit to Tenerife and I knew I didn’t want to stay in a very busy tourist destination, so El Medano was the perfect choice and I would recommend without hesitation
  
  What could be improved: The apartment itself is basic and that’s fine for a week or 2.
  The bed could have been sturdier although the mattress itself was ok. And the stairs up/down from the terrace are a bit dangerous ( in my opinion). You need to be cautious when using.

  Great apartment with good outside space. Well designed and well maintained.
  
  What could be improved: Kept waiting on arrival for the host to arrive with the key despite following instructions to call when leaving the airport. The walk into town was a little longer than I expected (10 to 15 mins), but it is a pleasant walk.

  Location is great, apartment is spacious and clean with large terrace and beautiful pool and sea view.
  
  What could be improved: The bed in the bedroom creaks terribly. Also one of us was sleeping on the couch in the living room and the refrigerator was very loud and woke her up every night.

  Appartement confortable et très propre dans une résidence de standing avec piscine (un plus quand la mer est agitée). La vue est simplement parfaite ! Notre accueil a été soigné et notre ôte a été très clair et exhaustif.

  Las vistas. También tenía un menaje de cocina bastante completo, y cuidado,aunque por poner un pero, tan solo había dos cucharitas para café. El parking muy cómodo y amplio
  
  What could be improved: La cama pequeña, de 1,35. Habría espacio suficiente en la habitación xra poner una más grande y cómoda 🥴. Las sábanas necesitan un cambio, están súper pasadas y las toallas no secan. Y la recepción de las llaves pues un poco insistentes… con horarios y demás.. si el vuelo se retrasa, las maletas duran en salir y hay q recoger coche de alquiler… no puedo decir una hora exacta de llegada y aún menos, la voy a decir de salida… tengo claro q ha de ser antes de las 12:00.. y si somos dos personas, al menos necesitamos un juego de llaves xra cada uno. A modo input, sería interesante q antes de ofrecer un apartamento, se sepa bien cuál es el mobiliario del mismo.. ver q falta y no limitarse a decir q si algo falta es xq la gente se lo lleva… eso no es ético

  Moderne, saubere Anlage etwas abseits des lebhaften Ortskerns direkt am Meer. Große Balkone.
  
  What could be improved: Klappernde Fensterläden, quietschendes Bett, keine Auflagen für Liegen. Einfache Ikea-Einrichtung.
  Sehr windanfälliger Balkon und der Fluglärm des nahegelegenen Airports.
