It’s right on Calle Brasil – which, by the way, is perfectly positioned because you’re literally a two-minute walk from that gorgeous stretch of beach that windsurfers absolutely love. I mean, El Médano isn’t your typical Spanish beach town, it’s got this laid-back, slightly alternative vibe that feels refreshingly authentic.

The apartment itself has this experimental name that had me curious, and it actually lives up to it in subtle ways. The design feels thoughtfully modern without being sterile – you know what I mean? There’s character here that you don’t get in cookie-cutter hotels. The 4-star rating is spot on; it’s comfortable and well-maintained without being fancy-schmancy. What really got me was how quiet it stays despite being so close to the action. El Médano has this natural rhythm where things wind down beautifully in the evenings, so you get proper rest even with the balcony doors open (which you’ll want to do – the sea breeze is incredible). The kitchen setup is actually functional too, not just for show, which matters when you want to grab fresh fish from the local market or those amazing tomatoes they grow here.

Location-wise, you’re in the sweet spot. The main beach strip is right there, but you’re also perfectly positioned to explore the rest of the island if you rent a car. Parking isn’t the nightmare it can be in some coastal towns – there’s usually something available within a block or two. The 8.4 rating makes total sense when you factor in the whole experience: the owners clearly care about the details, the area has that authentic Canarian feel without being touristy, and there’s something genuinely relaxing about the whole setup. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying longer than planned because it just feels right, you know?
