You know what? I was honestly skeptical when I first pulled up to Apartamentos Tenerife Sur 1 in Las Galletas – the name doesn’t exactly scream luxury, right? But man, sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you upfront. This little gem sits right in the heart of Las Galletas, and I mean that literally. You’re maybe a three-minute walk from the harbor where the locals actually fish (not just the tourist fishing trips), and there’s this authentic energy in the air that you just don’t get in the bigger resort towns.

The apartments themselves are honestly better than most four-star hotels I’ve stayed at. I’m talking proper kitchens – like, you could actually cook a real meal if you wanted to, not just heat up leftovers in some sad mini-fridge situation. The balconies… well, depending on which side you get, you might catch glimpses of the ocean between the buildings, but honestly, the street-side rooms are just as charming because you get to watch the neighborhood come alive in the mornings. There’s something oddly satisfying about hearing the local café fire up their espresso machine at 7 AM while you’re having your coffee. The Wi-Fi actually works (I know, revolutionary concept), and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine – small victories that make a huge difference when you’re trying to work remotely or just, you know, sleep.

What really sets this place apart is the location within Las Galletas itself. This isn’t some sanitized tourist bubble – it’s a proper Canarian fishing village that happens to have really good restaurants and a lovely promenade. You can walk to Playa de Las Galletas in about five minutes, and while it’s not the biggest beach on the island, it’s got this protected feel that makes the water surprisingly calm. The real insider tip? Head to the harbor around sunset – there’s this little bar called La Lonja where the fishermen hang out, and they serve the freshest fish you’ll find anywhere on the south coast. Plus, you’re perfectly positioned to explore the rest of the south without being stuck in the chaos of Los Cristianos or Playa de las Américas. I mean, you can drive to Teide National Park in about an hour, hit the black sand beaches of the southeast, or just stay put and pretend you’re living like a local for a week. The management is refreshingly straightforward – no upselling, no hidden fees, just solid service from people who seem to genuinely care that you have a good time. That 9.6 rating? Yeah, it’s earned.

  Abbiamo soggiornato a marzo 2025 in questo appartamento, per 7 notti. Siamo atterrati la sera tardi e l'host ci ha attesi per darci le chiavi e mostrarci l'appartamento. Fuori è presente la piscina riscaldata, ne abbiamo usufruito 2 volte. L'appartamento è molto pulito, il bagno molto grande e spazioso, viene dato in dotazione tutto ciò che può servire per pulire. E' presente il detersivo per i piatti, la spugna, vari strofinacci. In bagno c'è anche la scopa, un ferro da stiro e la lavatrice. Non è presente la lavastoviglie ma lo si capisce già dall'annuncio e per noi non è stato un problema. C'è invece il forno a microonde e un piccolo forno. Ci sono davvero tanti utensili, tazze, ciotole, pentole, posate. Il letto è molto comodo. La posizione è ottima, in poco tempo si possono raggiungere i supermercati e le spiagge, noi da qui siamo riusciti a girare i punti principali dell'isola facendo 1500km in macchina, si parcheggia direttamente in strada davanti la struttura.
