Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of apartment-style places in the Canary Islands, and Apartamentos Las Terrazas de Sotavento honestly surprised me in the best way. The location on Calle Pizarro puts you right in La Mareta – which, if you don’t know the area, is this quieter pocket of Costa Calma that locals actually prefer because you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos but you’re still a five-minute walk from everything that matters. The building itself has this modern, clean-lined look that doesn’t scream “budget vacation rental,” and when you step onto those terraces (hence the name, obviously), you get why they made such a big deal about them.

What really got me was how thoughtfully everything’s set up inside. The apartments feel like someone actually lives there – I mean, the kitchens have proper knives that cut things, the living spaces aren’t crammed with cheap furniture that falls apart if you look at it wrong, and the bedrooms are genuinely quiet at night. You know how some places sound like paper walls? Not here. I could hear the ocean from my terrace in the evenings, but zero noise from neighboring units. The whole complex sits back from the main drag just enough that you’re not getting hit with street noise, but honestly, La Mareta isn’t exactly a party zone anyway – it’s more families and people who want to actually relax rather than stumble between bars.

The practical stuff matters too, and this is where Las Terrazas really delivers. Parking’s included (which is huge because finding a spot in this area during high season is basically a contact sport), the check-in process was refreshingly straightforward, and they actually maintain the place properly. The pool area’s not massive, but it’s clean and gets sun most of the day – I spent quite a few afternoons there with a book. Walking to the beach takes maybe seven minutes, and you hit this gorgeous stretch of sand that’s way less crowded than the main Costa Calma beach. There’s a little supermarket about two blocks away where you can grab basics without paying tourist prices, and if you want decent restaurants, you’ve got options within walking distance – though honestly, the kitchen setup makes you want to cook at least a few meals yourself. The whole vibe is relaxed but efficient, if that makes sense. It’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but it’s not cutting corners either. For the price point and that 8.6 rating, I can see why people keep coming back.

  Perfect location away from the noisy and touristy places…calm location with everything needed within walking distance…surprisingly the nearby airport/planes never disturbed. Great facilities as well…overall a very decent value for money

  The property was great, everything you could need for a stay. It was spotless and the roof terrace was amazing.
  The kitchen was well stocked with basics and the bathroom came with shampoo, conditioner and gel.
  The complex is well maintained and secure, the pool is lovely and a really peaceful environment.
  There is a shopping centre just across the road with a supermarket and restaurants- this was handy.
  
  What could be improved: Just the location. We weren't driving and the unreliable taxis and buses made getting anywhere difficult and expensive.
  There is nowhere in walking distance to have a coffee/ snack – unless you fancy the shopping centre.

  This apartment was a fantastic choice for our Tenerife vacation. Its proximity to the airport, supermarket, and a wide selection of restaurants made it incredibly convenient. We were also within walking distance of the best beach on the island, which was a major highlight. The apartment itself was comfortable and well-maintained, and the rooftop terrace was a true gem. Sunbathing up there was pure bliss! The underground parking provided peace of mind and the pool area with sunbeds was a welcome addition.

  Facilities, kitchen had what you needed, shower was brilliant, sun terrace fantastic. Communal pool beautiful and clean. Easy access instructions from a lovely woman called Tania.
