Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Apartamentos Barranco del Infierno? The name itself – “Hell’s Ravine” – which sounds way more dramatic than this perfectly pleasant spot tucked away on Calle los Molinos actually is. I mean, you’re literally staying right next to one of Tenerife’s most famous hiking trails, but the apartments themselves feel refreshingly normal after all the glitzy resort complexes that dominate most of Adeje.
The location is honestly brilliant if you’re the type who wants to experience actual Canarian life rather than just poolside tourist bubble stuff. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk from the Barranco del Infierno trailhead – and trust me, start that hike early because it gets packed by mid-morning and the sun is brutal by noon. The apartments sit in this quiet residential pocket where you’ll hear roosters in the morning (I know, roosters in a tourist town, but Adeje still has its local character) and the occasional goat bell from the hills above. Parking can be a bit tricky on the narrow street, but there’s usually space if you’re not too picky about walking a few extra meters.
What I really appreciated was how the place doesn’t try to be something it’s not. It’s a solid three-star setup with proper kitchenettes – actually useful ones, not those joke setups with a mini-fridge and a prayer. The apartments are clean and functional, with decent Wi-Fi (tested it for work calls, no issues) and those traditional Canarian shutters that actually block out the morning sun when you want to sleep in. The whole building has this lived-in feeling that’s way more comfortable than sterile hotel rooms. You’ll probably meet other travelers who are here for the hiking rather than the nightlife, which creates a different vibe entirely – lots of early-to-bed, early-to-rise folks comparing trail notes over morning coffee.
The walk down to the main Adeje area takes about fifteen minutes, maybe twenty if you’re taking it easy in the heat. There’s a little supermarket called Supermercado Castro just around the corner that stocks decent basics plus some surprisingly good local wine – the guy behind the counter speaks enough English to help tourists but you’ll score points if you attempt Spanish. Honestly, staying here feels like you’re getting a peek into how people actually live in this part of Tenerife, not just the vacation version of it. The 8.3 rating makes perfect sense – it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises.

This is the first time I've stayed at a place without a private balcony (my apartment didn't have any). But the shared roof terrace was really good, not crowded, and with lots of chairs and some tables and sunbeds.
And I liked the panoramic view from the terrace from the mountains over the town to the sea.Mihai-tudor from United Kingdom (9/10)

Very close to Barranco del infierno. Very complete apartment. Nice views. The place was quite clean, including common areas. They contacted me in advance to set up the key finding and check-in time.

-The location in old Adeje is actually quite nice (good restaurants nearby)
-The apartment was a comfortable place to stay for a couple of nights, would not recommend it as a "holiday home"
-The view from the terrace is beautiful
-We had apartment no 4, which is not facing the street, so it was relatively quiet
-The beds (mattresses) were comfortable enough
