So I stumbled across Apartamentos Alegro during one of those late-night booking marathons, and honestly? Best accidental find in ages. It’s tucked away on Los Prismas street in Poris de Abona – yeah, I know, sounds like the middle of nowhere, but hear me out. This little fishing village is actually perfectly positioned if you want to escape the tourist mayhem of Los Cristianos but still be close enough to civilization. The apartments themselves have this understated charm that really grew on me; you know how some places try way too hard to impress? This isn’t that. It’s just… solid. Really solid.

What got me was how quiet it is here, especially in the mornings when you can actually hear the ocean instead of tour buses revving up. The locals weren’t kidding when they said this stretch of coast stays pretty mellow even during peak season. I mean, you’re about fifteen minutes from the airport (which is brilliant for those early flights), but somehow the flight path doesn’t really bother you here. The apartments are spacious enough that you don’t feel like you’re living in a shoebox – I actually had room for all my stuff without playing luggage Tetris. The kitchenette situation is legit too; I picked up fresh fish from the harbor and cooked it properly instead of surviving on tourist-trap paella.

The staff here just gets it, you know? None of that forced cheerfulness or hovering – they’re around when you need them, invisible when you don’t. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, and they actually gave me useful local tips instead of just pointing to the hotel brochure. Parking’s never been an issue (trust me, this matters more than you think in the Canaries), and the whole vibe feels more like staying in someone’s well-kept second home than a typical hotel. The 8.9 rating makes total sense once you’ve been here a few days – it’s not flashy enough to be a perfect 10, but everything just works exactly as it should. If you’re the type who prefers authentic local flavor over resort bubble living, and you don’t mind being a short drive from the main tourist strips, this place delivers in ways that surprised me. Plus, watching the sunset from here without fighting crowds for a decent view? Yeah, that’s worth the slightly out-of-the-way location.

  Front line to the sea, beautiful location,plenty of towels and linen. Fabulous views, we slept with the windows open to hear the crashing of the sea below. Lovely sea swimming areas and quaint harbour, snorkelling was excellent with lots of fish to see. Secure apartment. WiFi excellent.Would definitely stay here again.
