I’ll be honest – when I first saw the address on Calle Alpispa, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Puerto de Santiago isn’t exactly the flashy resort area most people think of when they picture Tenerife, but that’s actually what makes Apartamento TeideMar such a find. This fourth-floor apartment (well, technically piso 2 in the Spanish numbering system) sits in this quiet residential block that feels more like where actual Canarians live than a tourist zone.

The thing that struck me right away was how the 9.6 rating wasn’t just inflated review nonsense – you can tell someone really cares about this place. The apartment has that lived-in comfort that vacation rentals often lack, you know? Real kitchen supplies, decent Wi-Fi that actually works, and – this might sound weird – but the shower pressure was honestly impressive for a building that’s clearly been around a while. From the windows, you get glimpses of the Atlantic, and if you crane your neck just right, there’s Mount Teide looming in the distance (hence the name, I’m guessing). The Los Gigantes cliffs are practically next door, maybe a ten-minute walk if you’re feeling ambitious, and that whole area is just stunning – those massive rock walls dropping straight into the ocean.

What I really appreciated was how central it is without being chaotic. Puerto de Santiago has this laid-back vibe that the southern resort towns lost years ago, but you’re still close enough to everything. There’s a decent supermarket about five minutes away, and the local restaurants actually cater to locals, not just tourists looking for paella and sangria. The building itself is pretty typical for the area – concrete construction, functional rather than fancy – but it’s well-maintained and surprisingly quiet. I mean, you’ll hear the occasional moped or neighbor, but nothing that kept me awake. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this neighborhood (narrow streets, you know how it is), but it’s manageable if you’re not driving some massive rental SUV. The beach access is decent too – not the pristine white sand you see in brochures, but real volcanic beaches that feel authentically Canarian. I found myself spending more time just wandering the coastal paths than I expected, especially in the evenings when the light hits those cliffs just right.

  Amazing apartment exactly as photos and spotlessly clean. Extremely well equipped. Built in water filter allowing you to drink tap water was a boon, to save lugging bottled water. Good location, very quiet. Great stay.

  Wir waren bereits das zweite Mal in der Wohnung und es hat uns wieder super gefallen. Die Lage ist wunderbar, nah am Zentrum, aber doch ruhig. Supermarkt, Restaurants, Strand alles um die Ecke.
  Die Wohnung ist super ausgestattet.
  Es gibt wirklich alles. An viele Details vor allem an Basics ist einfach gedacht. Das ist nicht selbstverständlich und macht den Urlaub zum Urlaub. Alles ist sehr sauber, hell und modern eingerichtet. Die Betten sind bequem.
  Die Terrasse hat einen schönen Blick und ist ein toller Entspannungsraum. Die Poolanlage ist gepflegt und schön angelegt. Wir empfehlen die Wohnung gerne weiter.
