You know what struck me first about Apartamento mesas del mar? The name actually makes sense once you’re standing on that terrace – you really do feel like you’re dining at the sea’s table, if that doesn’t sound too cheesy. It’s tucked away on Calle Mesa del Mar in Tacoronte, which honestly isn’t where most tourists end up, and that’s exactly why I loved it.

The location is sort of perfect in this understated way. You’re about fifteen minutes from the madness of Puerto de la Cruz, but you get to wake up to actual Canarian life happening around you. I mean, there’s a little bakery down the street where locals grab their morning bread, and the smell of fresh pastries drifts up to the apartments around 7 AM – better than any alarm clock, really. The apartment itself has this lived-in elegance that you don’t get in those sterile hotel chains. The kitchen actually works (I made coffee every morning and even attempted some local fish I bought at the market), and there’s enough space to spread out without feeling like you’re camping in someone’s closet. What really got me was the attention to small stuff – good water pressure, blackout curtains that actually block light, and WiFi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes.

The terrace situation is honestly the main event here. You’re looking out over the Atlantic, but it’s not that aggressive, wind-whipped coastline you get in some parts of Tenerife. It’s more gentle, especially in the evenings when the light goes soft and golden. I spent way too much time out there with a glass of local wine, watching the fishing boats head out for night catches. The building gets some road noise during the day – Tacoronte isn’t exactly sleepy – but it dies down after dinner time, and honestly, it just sounds like life happening, not like traffic chaos. Parking was easier than I expected, though you’ll want to get the host’s specific instructions because the street layout is a bit… creative, let’s say. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend coordinating arrival times ahead of time since it’s not a 24-hour front desk situation. The 9.1 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be fancy in that Instagram-perfect way, but everything works well and feels thoughtful. You’re getting that four-star comfort without the four-star attitude, plus you’re staying somewhere that feels connected to actual Tenerife, not tourist Tenerife. If you want to explore the island’s wine country (which is gorgeous and completely underrated), you’re perfectly positioned, and the north coast beaches are all within easy reach.

  We had a wonderful holiday in Vanessa's apartment! Exactly what is shown on AirBnB is what you get. It's a lovely quiet location with a beautiful beach nearby that is perfect for lounging and swimming. The whole apartment is well equipped. Although there are buses every 2 hours, I would recommend renting a car. Vanessa is very hospitable and happy to help you if you need anything.

  Petit appartement très bien agencé, confortable,propre et bien équipé.
  Petits cadeaux de bienvenue, savons et shampoing dans la douche.
  Literie très confortable, petite terrasse extérieure et voisin sympathique.
  
  La magnifique piscine naturelle est à quelques secondes à pied. Petite épicerie à proximité et grand stationnement.
  
  La route pour descendre à Mesa del Mar est tortueuse mais avec une vue exceptionnelle.
  
  Excellent contact avec Vanessa qui, si ne nous l'avons pas vu, était toujours disponible via WhatsApp.

  Excelente, Vanessa un encanto . Pendiente en cada momento de si llegue bien , si todo estaba bien , muy detallista. El lugar muy limpio, cómodo y no le faltaba de nada . Me sentí como en mi casa . El entorno es muy tranquilo, un bonito lugar para descansar y desconectar 🥰

  La zona , y que el apartamento contaba con todo lo necesario incluso muchos extras que nadie ofrece.

  Gut ausgestattete, saubere, kleine Wohnung, Parkplätze und Schwimmbecken direkt vor der Tür, ein kleiner Laden mit allem was man benötigt in kurzer Entfernung.
  Das WLAN ist sehr gut, das Passwort wurde uns leider nicht mitgeteilt, das Scannen des QR Codes am Router über dem Fernseher hat aber geholfen.

  K přírodnímu bazénu je to asi 50 metrů, na černou pláž asi 200 m. Hladina vody v přírodním bazénu je závislá na přívalových vlnách, což je vlastně výhoda – když je oceán natolik rozbouřený, že je zakázáno koupat se u pláže, je možné se koupat v přírodním bazénu.
  Velmi doporučuji přijet vlastním autem (dá se zaparkovat asi 20 metrů od apartmánu, zdarma). Pěšky do města je to na půldenní túru (Výškové převýšení +- 500 metrů) a autobusy jezdí asi každé dvě hodiny. Přes pracovní týden není problém zaparkovat i během dne, o víkendech je velký problém, protože dopoledne přijedou místní a turisté, kteří odjíždí až večer, takže doporučuji nejezdit nikam, nebo se vrátit až večer. Na druhou stranu je špatná dostupnost a omezená kvalita parkování obrovskou výhodou! Nikdy zde nebude přelidněno a návštěvníci se rozprostřou po pláži.
  Kousek od ubytování se nachází malý obchůdek se všemi základními potravinami.
  Apartmán je prakticky v přízemí, ale vzhledem k tomu, že se jedná o bývalé garáže, tak kolem nikdo nechodí. Lze nerušeně sedět na terase.
  Jsou zde nachystány plážové deky, spousta ručníků, fén, slunečník, dostatečné vybavení v kuchyni (pánve, hrnce, plech do trouby, misky atd…), kávovar na kapsle, televize.
  Při příjezdu nachystané víno a tapas.

  Das Apartment war sauber und schön eingerichtet. Die Gastgeberin war sehr nett. Sie hat auf uns gewartet. In der Nähe gibt es genügend Parkplätze und Das Mehr ist leicht zu Fuß zu erreichen. Die Küche war ebenfalls gut eingerichtet und Küchenutensilien waren ebenfalls ausreichend da.
