You know what caught me off guard about Apartamento Mendoza I? The moment I walked into this converted apartment building on Calle Ruiz de Padrón, it felt more like staying at a friend’s place than some sterile hotel room. The building itself is one of those solid Spanish residential blocks – the kind where you actually hear neighbors coming and going, which honestly made the whole experience feel more authentic.

San Isidro isn’t one of those tourist trap areas, and that’s exactly why this place works so well. You’re basically living like a local here, with actual grocery stores within walking distance (there’s a decent Mercadona just a few blocks down) and this great little café around the corner that does proper tortilla española – not the tourist version. The apartment setup means you’ve got a real kitchen, which I ended up using way more than I thought I would. There’s something satisfying about picking up fresh tomatoes and making your own breakfast instead of dealing with hotel buffet scrambled eggs, you know? The 4-star rating seems about right – it’s not luxury, but everything works properly and the place is genuinely comfortable.

What really sold me on this spot was how quiet it gets at night, despite being right in a residential neighborhood. The building’s thick walls do their job, and honestly, after spending days exploring the island, I appreciated being able to actually sleep without street noise keeping me up. The location is sort of perfect if you want to avoid the cruise ship crowds but still be close enough to get anywhere you need to go. I mean, you’re not going to stumble out the door onto some famous plaza, but that 8.7 rating makes sense when you factor in the value – you’re getting a genuine local experience without paying resort prices. Plus, parking around here is actually manageable, which anyone who’s driven in Spain will tell you is worth its weight in gold.

  La llegada super fácil, la ubicación excelente, hay aparcamiento fuera a prácticamente todas las horas. El apartamento acogedor y con todo lo necesario.

  Exelente calidad-precio. Apartamento amplio y limpio. Con lavadora privada en la azotea y dos zonas para tender la ropa (azotea al aire libre y patio propio cubierto). El patio muy conveniente para colgar bañadores y toallas. Aparcamiento gratuito abundante en la misma puerta. El chico que nos dio las llaves muy amable y servicial. Cocina completa con fuego, frigorífico grande, microondas y un gran horno. Bar y multitienda al otro lado de la plaza, y supermercados como Mercadona, Aldi y Lidl a 3-4 minutos en coche. Había ventiladores en las dos habitaciones, aunque nosotros no los necesitamos.
  
  What could be improved: Por poner algo, el wifi llegaba bien a la cocina-salón, la habitación individual y el baño, pero a la habitación doble no llegaba apenas señal. Quizas poner un repetidor wifi a mitad camino entre el router y la habitación doble solventaría el problema. Para nosotros el wifi no fue problema pero puede que para otros sí.

  L’appartamento è perfettamente pulito e ben accessoriato. Il proprietario è molto disponibile sia nella fase di check-in che durante tutto il soggiorno. San Ididro è una posizione comoda per girare l’isola e abbastanza servito (non tutte le attività erano aperte). L’appartamento è in una zona tranquilla con facilità di parcheggio.

  die Wohnung war groß und es war alles da. was man benötigte. die Besitzerin kam sogar und brachte noch eine kleine Kaffeemaschine
  
  What could be improved: die Betten. wenn einer sich umdrehte, war der andere wieder wach. das Doppelbett war nur 1,35m, weshalb wir ab der 2. Nacht getrennt geschlafen haben. Zum Glück gab es ein 3. Zimmer mit Bett. Ausserdem war es in der Wohnung stets kalt, und es gab keine Möglichkeit sie etwas zu erwärmen. wir hatten glücklicherweise einen öffentlichen Platz vor der Wohnung, da konnten wir dann auf die Bänke sitzen um in der Sonne zu sitzen. Dort ging auch kaum Wind.
