You know what really surprised me about this apartment? It’s not just another beachfront rental that looks better in photos than reality. When I first walked into apartment 608 at Edificio Lourdes, I actually did a little double-take – the views from up there are honestly spectacular, and I mean that in the best way possible. You’re looking straight out over Playa San Marcos, which is this lovely black sand beach that most tourists somehow miss because they’re all crowded into the more famous spots further south.

The location on Paseo de las Américas is pretty brilliant, actually. You’re literally a two-minute walk to the beach, but here’s the thing – you’re also right in the heart of Icod de los Vinos, so you can walk to those incredible local restaurants (there’s this family-run place called Casa Gaspar about five minutes away that does the most amazing papas arrugadas). The building itself is solid, well-maintained, and the elevator works reliably – trust me, after lugging suitcases up six flights somewhere else, I now check these things. Parking isn’t a nightmare like in some coastal areas, though weekends can get a bit busier when locals come down for beach days.

What really makes this place special, though, is how it feels like you’re actually living in the Canary Islands rather than just visiting some tourist bubble. The apartment has that lived-in comfort that makes you want to brew coffee in the morning and sit on the balcony watching the waves roll in. The kitchen is properly equipped – I mean, you can actually cook here if you want to, not just heat up leftovers. And honestly, with the local market just a short walk away, you’d be crazy not to grab some fresh fish and local produce. The whole setup just works, you know? It’s quiet enough that you’ll sleep well (the building faces away from the main road noise), but you’re not isolated from the life of the town. The beach itself is never packed – locals know about it, but it hasn’t been discovered by the Instagram crowd yet, which means you can actually find a good spot even in peak season. The water’s perfect for swimming, and the black volcanic sand is surprisingly comfortable once you get used to it. I’d honestly come back here in a heartbeat, and that’s saying something because I’m usually ready to explore somewhere new.

  La facilidad de contactar con Héctor y lo cómodo que fue la entrega de llaves. Las vistas tan impresionantes. Y también el detalle que nos dejó en el frigorífico. Además nos ofreció poder salir más tarde de las 12:00h. Ha sido una gran estancia, volvería a repetir sin duda. Gracias.

  Apartamentul arata exact ca in poze, iar privelistea de pe terasa este wow. Totul a decurs foarte bine, in fata cladirii exista o parcare mare si am gasit loc de fiecare data.
