You know what really surprised me about this place? It’s tucked away on Calle Nuestra Señora de Candelaria in Geneto, which honestly isn’t where most tourists end up – and that’s exactly why I loved it. The apartment sits in this quiet residential neighborhood about 15 minutes from La Laguna’s historic center, but it feels worlds away from the cruise ship crowds that flood the main plazas.

The moment you step onto that private terrace, you get it. I mean, the photos don’t lie, but there’s something about having your own outdoor space with a proper barbacoa that just hits different when you’re traveling. I spent way too many evenings out there with wine from the Mercadona down the street, watching the locals walk their dogs and hearing bits of conversation drift up from the street below. The terrace gets amazing afternoon sun – perfect for those late lunches that somehow turn into early dinners. The apartment itself is solidly equipped (the kitchen actually has everything you need, not just the bare minimum), and the whole setup feels more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in a rental.

What really works about staying here is the location – you’re genuinely in a Spanish neighborhood, not a tourist bubble. There’s a small bar-cafetería about two blocks away where the owner remembers your coffee order by day three, and the bus connection to Santa Cruz is actually pretty decent if you want to explore beyond La Laguna. The 8.4 rating makes sense; it’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but it delivers on the things that matter. Parking can be a bit of a dance on the narrow streets (welcome to the Canary Islands), but there’s usually something within a block or two. I’d definitely book this again, especially if you’re the type who values having your own space to decompress after days of sightseeing – that terrace and barbecue setup is honestly worth the slightly out-of-center location.

  La cercanía del propietario, Alexis. Nos atendió todas nuestras dudas y aconsejo sobre actividades de la zona. El apartamento estaba muy limpio y completo. Cerca del aeropuerto.

  La terraza con barbacoa es un plus. El apartamento está muy bien y no le falta de nada. Estaba muy limpio y la cocina tenia de todo. Muy recomendable.

  La ubicación fácil de llegar, el anfitrión muy cortés y amable tuvo paciencia en esperarnos, nos hizo recomendaciones para comer; el área del bbq estaba super, habíamos leído que las camas eran incómoda, pero no nos pareció eso en lo absoluto, el colchón de la matrimonial estuvo muy bien, quizás cambió el defectuoso, no lo sé!! Pero estuvo bien para nosotros 😊, y nos gustó también que pensaban en los niños pequeños, podías encontrar platitos, vasos, acorde para ellos, e inclusive una pequeña vasenilla en el baño.
  
  What could be improved: Que los que estaban en la parte de abajo eran las 12 de la noche y podías escuchar todo el alboroto en tu cuarto, lo cual la 1era noche fue incómodo para mí dormir, sería bueno algunas reglas para no molestar a los demás huéspedes desde cierta hora, y que la calefacción del agua es manual, debes activarla en el área de bbq y yo no sentí que calentaba el agua como tal, solo la hacía más fresca, nose si debí esperar más para que funcionara mejor, quizás fue eso no lo sé! 🙂
