Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of apartments in the Canary Islands, but Apartamento AQUAVIVA really gets El Médano right. The thing about this place – and honestly, this is what sold me on it – is that it’s tucked away on Calle Argentina, which means you’re literally a two-minute walk from the beach but not dealing with the chaos of the main strip. You know how some places claim to be “near the beach” and then you’re schlepping your stuff for fifteen minutes? Not here. I could actually hear the waves from the apartment, which was sort of perfect for falling asleep but never loud enough to be annoying.

The apartment itself feels like someone actually thought about how people live, not just how to cram in as many beds as possible. The kitchen’s properly equipped – I mean, I made coffee every morning and even cooked a few dinners without wanting to tear my hair out over missing basics. There’s this nice flow between the living area and the little balcony where you can sit with your morning coffee and watch the windsurfers getting ready down at the beach. Speaking of which, if you’re into kitesurfing or windsurfing, this location is absolutely perfect. El Médano is basically the windsurfing capital of Tenerife, and from the apartment you can see the spots where all the action happens. The whole vibe here is pretty chill – it’s not like the tourist madness of Playa de las Américas. Instead, you get this laid-back mix of locals, surfers, and travelers who actually want to experience the island rather than just Instagram it.

What I really appreciated was how the place felt authentic to the area. The building’s got that classic Canarian style without being all touristy about it, and the folks managing it clearly know El Médano well. They pointed me toward this little local place for fresh fish that I never would’ve found otherwise (it’s just around the corner on Calle Médano, completely unmarked). Parking was surprisingly easy too – there’s street parking right there, and even during the busier wind season in summer, I never had issues finding a spot. The only small thing I’d mention is that the WiFi can be a bit spotty during peak hours, but honestly, when you’re this close to some of the best beaches in Tenerife, that might actually be a blessing. The whole experience just felt right, you know? Like staying somewhere that locals would actually recommend to their friends rather than some generic holiday rental.

  Its close to HiperDino (SuperDino). Bathroom was recently cheaply refurbished, however for El Medano apartments was above average.
  
  What could be improved: Managers: too many general emails. They rarely pick up the phone. I gave them plight number and time of arrival and they were late to meeting and surprised i was already there. I had problem with kitchen hob, which was not working and needed two days for repair. After repair the manager send me email that i should not press all the buttons on the hob at once. In reality i came when hob was not working already as when i started it "locked" sign was already on, however for the manager was easy to explain problem as i should not make a mistake. I sent compain to Booking about kitchen not working and Booking washed hands by saying I should give respective negative review.
  
  The apartment is in upper ground floor next to the road. The noise of the road is serious problem and I would recommend to avoid the apartment. The bedroom has window to the east where wind is comming in and makes a lot of noise during the night. Over the street is big garbage spot, where the smell get in the apartment. In the mornings during the week truck drive on that road and was seriously imposible to sleap late in the morning. Close by was also construction site and they started with driling etc at 7am. As the apartment is next to the door without terrace, you cannot even open the window for people walking by not to see you inside or hear their talk. Basically the apartment is just for washing yourself and short sleap. You are locked in without terrace and closed windows.

  Muidu armas korter koos köögiga, kus enam-vähem eluks vajalik olemas. SuperDino kauplus ja paar kohvikut kohe maja kõrval, väga mugav. Lisaks alla 5 minuti jalutuskäigu kaugusel rand.
  
  What could be improved: Voodi oli mugav aga igal liigutusel ragises. Korter on väga lärmakas piirkonnas. 1 korrus, kus akende all käib pidev elu nii ööl kui päeval, sõidavad autod, räägivad inimesed, kõrval koerapargis hauguvad koerad- see on veel talutav, aga mida ma polnud varem kogenud oli meeletu tuul, mis öösiti undas ja kolistas nii, et pimedas toas oli lausa kerge hirm, et väljas toimub midagi hirmsat. Lisaks kuulda ka lennukite müra just öösiti. Pidin kasutama kõrvatroppe, mis natukene leevendas. Pesumasin lakkas töötamast ja pidime reisi lõpuni kasutama kõrvaltänavas asuvat pesumaja. Parkimiskoha leidmine on paras katsumus, tihti parkisime mitu tänavat eemal (kuigi jah parkimine ei kuulugi selle korteri juurde- lihtsalt infoks rendiautoga tulijatele).

  La casa è splendida, pulitissima e arredata con molto gusto. Tutto il necessario a disposizione (consiglio… servirebbe una padella più grande 😊)
  Un pò rumoroso ma chiudendo le finestre si risolve anche perché i ventilatori a soffitto sono belli e funzionali
