Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Anchieta 60? It’s tucked into this narrow cobblestone street in La Laguna’s historic center, and I mean *really* historic – we’re talking UNESCO World Heritage territory here. The building itself feels like it’s been watching over this corner of Tenerife for centuries, but step inside and you realize someone’s put serious thought into making old bones feel fresh without losing that Spanish colonial charm.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience La Laguna like a local rather than just passing through. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the Cathedral and Plaza del Adelantado, but here’s the thing – you’re far enough from the main tourist drag that you won’t hear groups shuffling by at 7 AM. I stayed here twice, once in spring and once during the summer festival season, and even when the town gets lively, the hotel stays surprisingly quiet. The staff actually knows the neighborhood inside and out, too. When I asked about finding good papas arrugadas that weren’t touristy, the receptionist didn’t just point me toward the obvious spots – she sent me to this tiny place on Calle Nava y Grimón where locals actually eat.

What really sets this place apart is how they’ve handled the whole boutique hotel thing without making it feel pretentious. The rooms have this clean, modern aesthetic but they’ve kept details like the original wooden shutters and high ceilings that remind you you’re sleeping in a piece of Canarian history. The bathrooms are spotless and well-designed – important when you’re dealing with older buildings that sometimes compromise on practical stuff. Parking can be tricky in La Laguna’s old quarter (honestly, it’s tricky everywhere in the old quarter), but they’ve sorted out arrangements nearby, and the front desk will walk you through it when you arrive. I mean, they have to – these streets weren’t exactly designed for rental cars.

The breakfast spread is solid without being overwhelming, and they source a lot of local products, which I appreciate. You’ll find proper Spanish coffee, local cheeses, and fresh fruit that actually tastes like it was picked recently. The common areas have this relaxed vibe where you might end up chatting with other travelers, but it’s not one of those places where you feel obligated to socialize if you’d rather just plan your day in peace.

What really won me over is how the place fits into La Laguna’s rhythm. This isn’t a resort town – it’s a living, breathing university city with its own personality, and Anchieta 60 feels like part of that fabric rather than something imposed on it. You’re close enough to hike in the Anaga Mountains if you want nature, but you’re also in the perfect spot to explore Tenerife’s cultural side, which honestly gets overlooked by a lot of visitors who never make it past the beach resorts. The fact that they maintain a 9.3 rating tells you something about consistency, too – this isn’t just a place that photographs well but actually delivers on the day-to-day experience of staying there.

Location very close to the airport. Parking reservations!

Very comfortable. Absolutely spotless. Very quiet too. Everything we needed was there for us to use. Very well maintained and our host was extremely polite and helpful. Kept in constant contact and was waiting for us when we arrived.

We had the ground floor flat which is situated in a residential area. Everything is nearby and we couldn’t have picked a better area. Trams is a 10 min walk and bus station was about 20 min walk.

Area is buzzing and clean. Lots of restaurants nearby. Locals are friendly and polite.

Good location with handy parking on-site. The ground floor apartment was very spacious. Staff were quick and informative via booking.com. The beds were very comfortable.
Although not particularly sound-proof, other guests were quiet between 11pm and 8am when we stayed..
Very little natural light in our courtyard-facing flat.
The soap dispensers in the shower were both empty, which was annoying. They weren't particularly apologetic or keen to replace them straight away, so we could have our morning shower either.

Awesome location near the old city center of La Laguna. We got the luxury apartment which is a beautiful historic apartment on the second floor, very well renovated and with all the essentials. We also had private parking available which was a great advantage since parking in the area was very tricky.

Daniel answered the phone as soon as we called and was very helpful. He came out to the car and gave us directions to the secure parking.
Very clean with loads of space and very quiet. Nice kitchen with good range of utensils and crockery. Even 2 types of coffer maker! Great showers. Beds ok. Good location for old town, lots to see within walking distance. Supermarket and restaurants nearby. Easy drive to Anaga national park and Santa Cruz.
