You know what struck me first about the Alua Atlantico Golf? It’s actually positioned perfectly on that stretch of Avenida del Atlántico where you get these sweeping ocean views without being right in the thick of the tourist chaos. I mean, San Miguel de Abona isn’t exactly a household name like Playa de las Américas, but that’s honestly part of its charm – you’re close enough to hit the bigger resort areas when you want that energy, but far enough away to actually hear the waves at night.

The all-inclusive setup here works better than most because they’ve clearly figured out the food rotation game. I’ve stayed at places where you’re eating the same sad buffet by day three, but the kitchen staff actually seems to care about mixing things up. The golf course integration is pretty seamless too – and I’m saying this as someone who usually couldn’t care less about golf. There’s something about having that green space right there that makes the whole property feel more spacious and less like you’re packed into a concrete resort box. The 4-star rating feels honest, not inflated – you’re getting solid comfort without the pretentious touches that jack up prices elsewhere. Check-in was surprisingly smooth (we arrived during that notorious 3 PM rush on a Saturday), and the staff genuinely seemed to know the area well enough to give actual recommendations rather than just pointing you toward the hotel’s own overpriced excursions.

What really sold me on this place was how it handles the little things that matter when you’re actually living there for a week. The rooms face either the ocean or the golf course, so you’re not staring at a parking lot or another building. Parking is included and actually adequate – trust me, that’s not a given in Tenerife. The pool area gets busy around midday but there’s enough space that it never feels claustrophobic, and honestly, the morning hours around 8-9 AM are pretty magical when you’ve got the place mostly to yourself. The location puts you about fifteen minutes from the airport (which is either convenient or potentially noisy depending on your perspective), and you’re positioned well for exploring the southern coast without being trapped in the resort bubble. That 8.2 rating makes sense – it’s not going to change your life, but it’s the kind of place where everything just works the way it should, which is honestly harder to find than you’d think.

  The location was fantastic, only 15mins from the airport. The place was spotless, everything from the restaurant to the room was always clean. The my favourite club lounge and area in the restaurant were both a wonderful perk. And the cava was delicious.
