Look, I’ll be straight with you about alquilaencanarias El Medano beach 1 – it’s one of those places that actually lives up to its location. You know how some hotels just plop themselves anywhere and call it beachfront? Well, this one on Paseo Amalia is literally a two-minute shuffle to the sand, and I mean the good sand where the windsurfers hang out, not some tucked-away corner.

The thing about El Médano is that it’s got this laid-back vibe that’s hard to fake, and honestly, this place fits right into that energy. It’s a proper 4-star setup – clean, well-maintained, the kind of place where you don’t wince when you walk barefoot on the bathroom tiles. The staff actually seem to know the area, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how rare that is. They’ll tell you the best spots for morning coffee (there’s this little place just off the main strip that does cortados perfectly) and when the wind picks up for kitesurfing – usually around 2 PM if you’re wondering.

What really sold me was the practicality of it all. Parking isn’t a nightmare, which in a beach town is basically a miracle. The rooms are spacious enough that you’re not playing Tetris with your luggage, and the balconies – well, most of them – give you at least a peek at the ocean or the red mountain backdrop that makes this part of Tenerife so distinctive. You can hear the waves at night, but it’s not overwhelming. Actually, it’s kind of perfect for drowning out the occasional late-night chatter from the bars down the street.

The 8.4 rating makes sense when you consider this isn’t trying to be some flashy resort complex. It’s more like a really solid base camp for exploring the south coast. You’re close enough to walk to the natural pools at Punta de la Rasca when the tide’s right, and the bus connections to other parts of the island are decent – though honestly, you might not want to leave much. There’s something addictive about the rhythm here, especially if you catch the sunset from the beach with a beer from one of the chiringuitos.

I mean, it’s not perfect – the Wi-Fi can be spotty during peak hours, and if you’re on the mountain side, you’ll miss the ocean views. But for what it is, in this location, with staff who actually care about your experience? It works. You’ll probably end up spending most of your time outside anyway, which is exactly the point of coming to a place like El Médano.

  Overall standard of the apartment and the facilities. All very clean, comfy and ideal for a short stay. The management were helpful when I did have an issue, which was resolved.
  
  What could be improved: Due to it's location I knew it was going to be a bit lively in the evenings. However the windows weren't very good at keeping out the noise of the square or the wind. Usually not a problem but had to get some early nights and not easy.

  Apartment was super clean and cute, it was gorgeous waking up to the beach sunrise and sunset view for a week. Located in the very center or it felt like that, in El Medano, we enjoyed that everything was a walking distance. The location is noisy but we loved it, you can hear the life of the place plus you get free live music from the square every day.:) Huuge plus for having a Bialetti Moka machine, it made me feel like at home in the mornings(coffee LOVER here).
