The space actually feels like someone’s carefully designed home rather than a generic hotel room, which is exactly what you want when you’re planning to spend more than a night or two in El Médano.

The duplex setup is brilliant, honestly. Downstairs you’ve got this open living area that catches the afternoon light perfectly, and the kitchen is actually functional – I mean, you can cook a proper meal here, not just heat up instant noodles. Upstairs, the bedroom has these windows that let in this gorgeous morning light, and you can hear the ocean if you open them at night. The sounds of El Médano are pretty gentle anyway – it’s not like staying in Las Américas where you’ve got party noise until 3 AM. What really got me was the attention to details… there’s proper counter space, the shower pressure is excellent (trust me, this matters more than you think), and they’ve got blackout curtains that actually work.

The location is where this place really shines, though. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Playa del Médano, and I don’t mean a tourist-brochure five minutes – I mean an actual, lazy stroll where you might stop to pet a cat or grab coffee. The beach there is perfect for windsurfing if you’re into that, but honestly, it’s just as good for sitting with a book and watching the kite surfers do their thing. There’s this little cluster of restaurants right by the water – nothing fancy, just solid Canarian food and fresh fish. And here’s something most people don’t realize: El Médano is close enough to the airport that you’re not spending your whole first day traveling, but far enough that you don’t hear planes constantly. The whole area has this laid-back, local vibe that’s getting harder to find in the Canaries these days. Plus, if you rent a car (which I’d recommend), you’re perfectly positioned to explore the south of Tenerife without feeling like you’re staying in a resort bubble. The host was responsive when I had questions, check-in was smooth, and honestly, for the price point, this place delivers way more than you’d expect.
