Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Alexandre La Siesta? It’s actually tucked away from the absolute chaos of Playa de las Americas’ main strip, but you’re still right in the thick of things on Avenida Rafael Puig. I mean, you can hear the energy from the beach promenade – maybe a five-minute walk – but honestly, it doesn’t feel like you’re sleeping above a nightclub like some places around here. The building itself has this sort of understated Spanish charm that doesn’t scream “tourist trap,” which I appreciated. Check-in was smooth enough, though the lobby gets pretty busy around 3 PM when everyone’s trying to sort out their rooms after arriving from the airport.
What really works about this place is how it manages to feel like a proper hotel without being stuffy about it. The pool area – and this is key if you’re here in summer – actually gets decent sun most of the day, unlike some hotels where the buildings block everything out by 2 PM. The rooms are honestly better than I expected for a 4-star in this area. Nothing fancy, but the AC works (crucial in August), and the bathrooms are recently updated. I stayed on the third floor facing inland, which meant less noise from the street but also less of a view – though let’s be real, you’re not coming to Playa de las Americas to stare out your hotel window. The housekeeping staff clearly knows what they’re doing, and the beds are actually comfortable, not those rock-hard European mattresses you sometimes get stuck with.
Here’s the thing about the location that the booking sites don’t really capture – you’re close enough to walk to Safari Shopping Centre when you need basics or forgot your sunscreen, but far enough from the Veronicas Strip that you won’t have drunk British tourists singing football chants under your window at 3 AM. The beach access is genuinely easy; you just head down toward the coastline and you’re at Playa de Troya, which has decent sand and isn’t too crowded if you get there before 10 AM. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare during peak season – the hotel has limited spaces, so if you’re renting a car, factor that in. The breakfast buffet is… well, it’s a buffet, but they do proper Spanish tortilla and the coffee doesn’t taste like water, so there’s that. Staff speaks enough English to handle most situations, and they’re genuinely helpful when you need restaurant recommendations or help figuring out the bus routes to other parts of Tenerife. With an 8.3 rating, it’s clearly doing something right, and after staying here, I get why people come back – it’s just a solid, no-nonsense base for exploring the island without breaking the bank or dealing with resort complexes that feel like shopping malls.

Superb – Brendan from Ireland – 2 July 2025 (9/10)
Room was huge, staff were brilliant very friendly
What could be improved: Bar was inaccessible during the day service was very slow and poor selection of beersGreat family hotel – Alexandru from Romania – 1 July 2025 (9/10)
Excellent facilities and activities for children. Good and varied food. The location is in a quiet part of the resort. Excellent value for money.
What could be improved: The staff was not very helpful with matters outside of the hotel, like how we can buy bus tickets or how we can get to certain attractions. There was often not enough cuttlery on the tables at the restaurant, and no place where we could get it ourselves, so we hand to take cuttlery from other tables or wait for the staff. In the midst of everything – Mandy from United Kingdom – 26 June 2025 (9/10)
We loved the hotel. Very well situated in the middle of everything. The staff were great. The cleaners came every day, changed towels and made beds, and cleaned around. Lovely balcony to sit on during the evening. Great air con much needed so hot. The communal areas were spotless. There was a large variety of food choices at meal times. However, coming from a catering background, the hot food section was either cold or just warm. We were the first ones into the dining room most days, and the food was still cold or warm. Luckily, there was a microwave we used to heat our food up.
What could be improved: The temperature of the food.Good location, clean and good for value. – Ólöf from Iceland – 13 June 2025 (9/10)
Very comfortble room and out side and pool area big.
What could be improved: Need to upgrate the bathroom.Superb – Þórarinn from Iceland – 10 June 2025 (9/10)
Staff was great and did everything to make our holiday the best 🙂
Great place to stay with family – Robert from United Kingdom – 29 May 2025 (8/10)
Very clean friendly staff , very fresh food , great facilities
What could be improved: Pools closed if baby poo or vomit. This is very unusual for pool to be closed for whole day especially baby pool . So many babies couldn't enjoy the pool and the big pools wasn't entertaining us much and too many adults.Very good – Marion from Ireland – 23 May 2025 (8/10)
Cleanliness and location
Awesome hotel – Kaloian from Bulgaria – 23 May 2025 (8/10)
Great hotel, service, food, location
What could be improved: The bed was making noise and not king size bed but two single beds togetherGreat stay as always – Joanna from United Kingdom – 17 May 2025 (9/10)
Great location, good rooms
What could be improved: 7am wake up every morning from gardener cutting the lawn !Great hotel with great facilities and views. Would reccommend to anyone to stay here. – Gavin from Ireland – 2 May 2025 (9/10)
The room was very spacious and the beds were big and comfy. The pool area was lovely and sutiable to all. The staff were really pleasant throughout the stay, breakfast had a great variety to choose from. Included was access to the spa, gym which was a great option to have. The location of the hotel is perfect for travelling to all areas within southern Tenerife.
What could be improved: There could be an iron within the rooms, it was said for security reasons it was not allowed but would be great to have as the laundry service provided could take 2-3 days without weekends so for shorter stays not very useful.
