Look, I’ll be straight with you about this place – the name might be a mouthful (seriously, who puts the entire amenities list in the hotel name?), but 523 Central in Playa de las Américas is actually a solid choice if you want to be right in the thick of things without paying resort prices. I’ve stayed here twice now, and honestly, it’s one of those places that just works.

The location is what really sells it. You’re on Avenida V Centenario, which means you’re literally a three-minute walk from the beach – and I mean the good part of the beach, not some rocky corner nobody talks about. The building itself, Las Terrazas, sits right where the action is but far enough back that you’re not dealing with the street noise from all the bars until the early hours. Well, mostly anyway – Friday and Saturday nights you’ll hear some of the party crowd, but that’s Playa de las Américas for you. The pool area is actually pretty decent sized, nothing fancy but clean and gets sun most of the day, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed around here. What I really appreciate is that they don’t overcrowd it with too many loungers – you can actually find a spot without getting there at dawn.

The WiFi thing they advertise so prominently? Yeah, it actually works, which is honestly refreshing after staying at places where “free WiFi” means you might get connected if you stand in the lobby holding your phone just right. The apartments themselves are pretty standard but well-maintained – you know what you’re getting with a 4-star rating, and they deliver on that. The kitchenettes are properly equipped too, which matters because eating out every meal in this area will drain your wallet fast. There’s a Mercadona about a ten-minute walk away if you need to stock up on basics, and the local fruit vendor on the corner – this older guy who’s been there forever – has the best bananas you’ll find on the island, I swear. The staff at check-in has always been helpful when I’ve been there, though their English can be hit or miss depending on who’s working. But they try, and that goes a long way. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak season – the building has some spots but they fill up quick, so you might end up circling the block a few times if you’re arriving late in the day during summer.

What really makes this place worth considering is that you’re getting that prime Playa de las Américas location without the premium resort markup. You’re close enough to walk to all the restaurants along the waterfront, the nightlife if that’s your thing, and honestly, the ferry to La Gomera if you want to do a day trip. The 8.8 rating makes sense – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but it delivers on what it promises. For the price point, especially if you catch it during shoulder season, it’s a pretty smart choice for exploring this part of Tenerife.

  Todo genial, el apartamento olía súper bien, la cama y las almohadas súper cómodas. La ducha genial, la terrazita muy acogedora. Te hacen sentir como en casa, la verdad que me he alojado en muchos apartamentos por esta zona y este sin duda ha sido el mejor, lo volveré a elegir siempre que vuelva. La ubicación es genial estás al lado de la parada de guaguas, donde puedes moverte por la isla sin problema!!! Además tienes la playa caminando a pocos minutos. Un gran acierto.

  La casa estaba muy limpia. El personal con que hablé fue amable y resolvieron las dudas que tenía, la ubicación esta bien, muchos restaurantes cerca, aparcamiento debajo de la casa, centro comercial cerca.

  What could be improved: het zwembad en dan vooral de bedjes en de kussens die erop hoorden. Dat was allemaal erg oud en gedateerd. Jammer want het zwembad was netjes. Ook de omgeving rond het zwembad kan wel een opknapbeurt gebruiken.
