Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “2x bedroom Holiday with Teide Views in Heated Pool Complex FC407,” I thought someone just gave up on creativity. But you know what? Sometimes the most awkwardly named places turn out to be gems, and this apartment in the Fairways Club is exactly that kind of surprise.

The location hit me right away – you’re literally looking at Mount Teide from your terrace, and I mean *actually* looking at it, not squinting through some tiny gap between buildings like so many “volcano view” places try to pass off. The apartment sits in this quiet residential complex on Av. María Ángeles Ascanio Cullen (good luck pronouncing that one), but it’s honestly perfect because you’re tucked away from the tourist chaos while still being close enough to everything that matters. San Miguel de Abona isn’t exactly the flashy part of Tenerife – it’s more like where locals actually live and work, which I sort of love. There’s this authentic Spanish neighborhood vibe that you miss when you’re staying in the resort areas.

The heated pool situation is legit, by the way. I was skeptical because, well, how many times have you heard “heated pool” and it turns out to be lukewarm at best? But they actually keep it warm enough that you can swim comfortably even when the evenings get a bit cool. The complex itself feels more like a residential community than a tourist trap – you’ll hear kids playing in Spanish, see families doing their weekly shopping, that kind of thing. Inside, the apartment is honestly better than the photos suggest. Two proper bedrooms, not those weird studio setups where someone just threw a curtain across the middle. The kitchen actually has everything you need (and I mean everything – I managed to make a proper paella, which tells you something about the setup). What really got me was the little details – decent water pressure in the shower, blackout curtains that actually block light, and thank god, air conditioning that works without sounding like a helicopter landing.

The only thing that might catch you off guard is the parking situation – it’s there, but you’ll need to navigate some narrow streets to get to it. Also, if you’re expecting resort-style service, well, this isn’t that kind of place. You’re basically renting someone’s well-maintained apartment, which means you handle your own towels and cleaning (though honestly, the independence is refreshing). The 8.5 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be fancy, but everything works exactly as it should. For families or couples who want space to spread out, a real kitchen, and that incredible Teide view without paying resort prices, this place delivers. Plus, you’re close enough to both the southern beaches and some excellent local restaurants that tourists never find – there’s this little tapas place about ten minutes away that I’m still dreaming about.

  Clear and friendly instructions from the agent before and during our stay. It was a lovely fully equipped apartment in a mostly quiet gated resort previously visited many times before.
  
  What could be improved: The regular drain smell in and outside the property and in the local area. Little noise insulation which allows noisy neighbours to spoil the peace and quiet especially overnight. Nearby construction work because of the dust and noise but you do get used to it. The area has become quite run down post Covid with many of the local restaurants having shut down.

  Apartment fitted to reasonable standard, not all yellow and refurbished 30 years ago.
  
  What could be improved: Sound insulation – upstairs neighbours living room above our bedroom. Sound insulation so poor we heard everything. At night I could hear the tearing toilet paper from the roll, that's how bad sound insulation. Anything they did, woke us up. Open water tap, flush toilet, talk on phone, talk to each other, push a chair, walk across the room etc. Every morning we were woken up at about 7:00-7:30am, we came to rest and couldn't sleep! Construction site sounds all day were on top of it, we had to shut terrace door because of noise we couldn't hear each other talk. Not what you expect from holiday in Tenerife. Teide views – yes if can look past tower crane and construction site. Can't even take a picture. Hiperdino closest to the comolex prices were 80% to double of what we saw elsewhere on island. Shocking. Cashier gave me 10€ less change and when said you need to give me 10 euro more, she pretended to check something in the till and gave me 10 back but wasn't surprised at all by it. She obviously knew what she was doing. Nothing within walking distance to eat or so, other than bar by the pool and that 54 place by the bins where all the same people were drinking every night. We were looking just leave it and rent elsewhere half way through our stay but couldn't find anything for next day.

  Сподобалося все. До берега п'ять хвилин. Гарні краєвиди. Недалеко зупинка автобуса.
  Окремі ванні кімнати – це зручно. Безпека: зачиняються на ключ вихід на тераси, є сейф. Чудова кухня з усім належним. Постійно на зв'язку власник апартаментів з будь-якого питання. Можливо, ще б приїхав

  Apartament bardzo ładny, czysty, łóżka wygodne, 2 osobne sypialnie, 2 łazienki. Kuchnia dobrze wyposażona, zmywarka, pralka, duża lodówka.
  W apartamencie jest wszystko co potrzeba, żelazko, deska do prasowania, suszarka na pranie.
  Apartament znajduje się w cichej okolicy, w zadbanym kompleksie, woda w baenie podgrzewana ( co ma o dziwo znaczenie), o leżaki nie trzeba było walczyć.
  Z lotniska można dojechać autobusem 415, koszt 2,45€ od osoby
  
  What could be improved: Apartament znajduje się blisko lotniska co ma swoje plusy i minusy, na szczęście w nocy samoloty nie latają a w dzień można je traktować jako atrakcję 😁

  Lekker ruim en mooi appartement in een soort van klein en gezellig aangelegd dorpje. Alles in het appartement aanwezig voor een prima verblijf.
  
  What could be improved: Hier en daar wat kleine gebreken zoals de deurklink van de achterdeur, lege afstandbedieningen, klok die stil staat.

  De keuken was goed ingericht. De tuin was een prettige plek en als je naar je huis liep, had je het idee dat je in een dorpje liep waar iedereen door elkaar heen woonde.
  Het weer was super en het personeel was vriendelijk.
  
  What could be improved: Het bed was heel hard, waardoor we echt heel veel last van onze rug hadden. Ook was de bank erg doorgezakt en was de leuning niet meer prettig. Verder is er geen lamp boven de eettafel dus als je een spelletje wilt spelen, moet je de andere lampen aanzetten
