The free parking right on-site was actually a relief — I mean, you’d be surprised how many places in the Canary Islands make you hunt around for a spot.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s the thing about San Miguel de Abona — it’s not where most tourists end up, and that’s exactly why couples seem to love this place so much. The location rating of 9.2 from recent guests makes total sense when you realize you’re basically getting the best of both worlds. You’re close enough to the airport (maybe 10 minutes) that you’re not stressed about flights, but far enough from the tourist chaos that you can actually relax. The golf course is right there if that’s your thing, and honestly, even if you don’t play, the views across the fairways toward the ocean are pretty spectacular.

The Accommodation

The holiday homes themselves are more spacious than your typical hotel room — think self-catering apartment style with actual living areas where you can spread out. Each unit has its own kitchen, which I actually used more than I expected. There’s something nice about being able to make coffee exactly how you like it in the morning, or grab a cold drink from your own fridge after a day exploring. The furnishings are comfortable without being fancy — clean lines, neutral colors, and everything you need without unnecessary frills.

What Makes It Special

You know what really struck me about this place? It’s designed for people who want to experience Tenerife like they actually live there, not like they’re just passing through. The staff clearly gets that — they’re helpful without being hovering, and they seem to genuinely know the area well. When I asked about local restaurants (there’s no on-site restaurant, by the way), they pointed me toward some family-run places in the village that I never would have found otherwise. The whole vibe is relaxed and residential, which works perfectly if you’re planning to explore the island during the day and want somewhere peaceful to come back to.

That 9.3 overall rating isn’t just a fluke — this place delivers on what it promises without overselling itself. Couples especially seem to appreciate the quiet, authentic feel of the location, and I can see why. You’re not dealing with crowded hotel pools or fighting for sun loungers.   Communication before we arrived about how to gain access etc was very clear and worked without any issue. The accommodation, location, pool area etc were all excellent. The staff are very quick to respond to any issues and deal with everything quickly and efficiently.
  We have been to this area many times and so we knew where we were going. This time we decided to go self catering and the whole experience at 11 holiday homes was excellent, i am sure we will be going back.
